The White Stuff

Finally! After a schizophrenic winter of temperatures varying wildly from 70 degrees one day to 30 degrees the next, it appears that winter has truly arrived. I am sitting at my desk watching jumbo snowflakes tumble from the sky and cover the ugly dead grass. What a beautiful sight!

I guess the girls inside out jammies, ice cube flushing, and frozen spoons under the pillows worked! Their wish came true, and it looks like we might have some hot cocoa and chili in our future. Yum! "Cause it's really all about the food!

Oooh! That sounds wonderful! I LOVE cold weather. My whole mood changes. Although it's not snowing here in Texas, it is cold. We're having tortilla chicken soup tonight. YUM!

Where do you live that you're just getting the first snow now? Yeah, that first snow IS magical, especially to the kids. The yummy "comfort food" that comes with winter is OUR reward!

yep, the food

chili on baked potatoes,
hot cocoa,
Pioneer Woman's cinnamon rolls.

I gain 10 pounds every time it snows.

Ice cube flushing and frozen spoons under the pillows - how cute is that? I never heard of those two but obviously they work.

I sure don't have to do them where we live, but I think it's adorable your girls did it because you just know they're convinced it totally worked. :-)

Wow! That's fun. We might see snow tonight and tomorrow. Of course, snow in Dallas is really just a thin layer of ice :) I remember when I was young and was taught a lesson at church about God answering prayers, I took it very literally and that night fervently prayed that it would snow. It didn't and I really questioned what I had been taught for a while : )

I usually love the cold weather but I have been running a really high fever lately! SPRING FEVER! :)

No snow in Austin!
