"No, Mommy, don't get too close to me." (As I am gingerly pulling back the quilt to cuddle up beside her- typically her favorite place for me to be.)
"You don't want me to snuggle you?" (I secretly thought this request was because she didn't want me to catch her germs, after all, she has been asking all morning for me to cuddle her! Now that the linens have been changed on 3 beds , 2 loads of laundry have been tossed in, and lysoling of every hard surface has occurred, I am here to save the day with first class snuggling. )
"No, Mommy, I'm afraid if you get too close it might make me want to throw up."
"Um, ok."
I guess I have to keep this in perspective... she has been sick with a stomach flu since 5:00 this morning, a mere 30 minutes after her sister helped us greet the day with a vomit wake up call of her own.
I'm off to find my own space to rest for a few minutes, far away from the kiddos lest I inspire more throwing up by my mere proximity to them!

Sometimes you just have to take it with a grain of salt. Little ones just dont know what their words can conjure up in us. xoxoxo
